About ATC Nigeria Foundation

Digital Inclusion can be considered the 21st century social inclusion that allows access to skills required, and active participation in the information technology sector. There is a dire need to enable more people to gain access to the internet, other internet-driven tools, ensure economic development and increase literacy levels.

The ATC Nigeria Foundation (“ATCN Foundation”) is the philanthropic arm of ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Limited (“ATC Nigeria”) that focuses on reducing illiteracy rate within local communities in Africa by upskilling children and youth with digital skills in preparation for the future of work.

To ensure more young people have access to the digital skills that enables readiness for work toward reduction of poverty and reducing income inequality.

Our Program

ATCN Foundation is committed to deploying Digital Communities Centers across Nigeria to bridge the digital skill gap by delivering relevant and applicable digital skills to various underserved and deserving communities in Nigeria.

Digital Communities

Located at or near the base of a communications site which provides broadband connectivity and uninterrupted power, Digital Communities are places where people of all ages gain access to education, career development, healthcare and financial services using digital devices, educator-led instruction, and self-guided kiosks.

Social Impact Programming is available at each Digital Community and is based on local needs. Local non-profit organizations operate and implement the programming in one or more focus are:

Community Education

Classrooms are equipped with electrical power, strong internet signal, user devices, classroom materials and either educator-led instruction or self-service kiosks

Health Services

Clinics provide basic healthcare services and digital health solutions. They are available to communities where access to healthcare is limited.

Financial Services

Kiosks and classroom education offer e-banking and financial literacy education for visitors with an aim to improve economic stability for community members.

Career Development

Job skills training and certification courses are available to registered participants with an aim to support entrepreneurship and increase employability for unskilled and under-skilled adults, with job placement support offered to graduates

Our Reach

Since inception in 2018, 64 Digital Communities centers across 26 states have been established in Nigeria with more than 5,000 individuals impacted.

Digital Communities provide social impact programming when partners come together with a unified mission to support the advancement of connectivity. Partners engage from the public and private sectors and can include for-profit corporations, nonprofits, NGOs, and governments.

A Digital Community consists of partners providing:

  • Classroom, office, or clinic furniture
  • User devices and equipment
